The new drug, Sofosbuvir, can cost the VA $42,000 for each patient’s 12-week treatment. Complaints are reported elsewhere about VA patients being put on a waiting list, but in St. Louis Dr. Leela Nyak, a liver specialist at the John Cochran Medical Center says the cost isn’t forcing them to turn people away.
