'OK In Your Zone' Tour:Hepatitis B Is Mean, Don't Be Green, Get Screened

Okyeame Kwame Launched His 'OK In Your Zone' Tour Says Hepatitis B Is Mean, Don't Be Green, Get Screened

OK In Your Zone

Okyeame Kwame's on going hepatitis B campaign has been given a major boost. A tour dubbed 'OK In Your Zone' has been launched to raise enough funds for the campaign with a rhythmical theme 'Hepatitis B Is Mean, Don't Be Green, Get Screened'.

When a man dreams and decides to help himself to achieve that dream, the people around him ought to give him the needed support. The above was exactly what happened last Friday at the Kama Conference, as friends, love ones, sponsors and the media gather to show love to one of Ghana's finest rappers Okyeame Kwame.

Philanthropist and the Ghana Health Ambassador, Okyeame Kwame launched his Okyeame Kwame Foundation early this year. The foundation is a non-governmental organization that seeks to counsel, create awareness and screen Hepatitis B.

Hepatitis B is one of the most deadly diseases caused by a hepatitis B virus (HBV) which infects the liver of hominoidae, including humans, and causes an inflammation called hepatitis.

This disease is ranked by the World Health Organization as the ninth leading cause of death in the world, while the Ghana Health Service estimates the disease prevalence as one in every six individuals, representing 40 per cent of the population.

Before the foundation was launched, a free screening had already started in the following towns; Takoradi, Nkawkaw and KNUST.

Mrs. Diana Hopeson, the president of the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) was at last Friday's event to show support to one of their own. In her speech, she said among other things that, she had come there because of two reasons. One is because the Okyeame Kwame is a musician and the other one is because the issue has to do with health.

A representative from the Ghana Health Service also gave out the government's support for this worthy campaign. ‘OK In Your Zone’ simply means Okyeame Kwame in your zone. Its all about entertainment and campaign against Hepatitis B.

The tour is sponsored by the biggest telecommunication network in Ghana, MTN. GhanaCelebrities.com is proud to be part of this experience.
Be on the look out, if you see Okyeame Kwame somewhere near your area then you know it's all about ‘OK In Your Zone’.

The tour takes place in the following towns
Golden Tulip, Kumasi on 27th November, 2010.
Jubilee Park, Takoradi on 3rd December, 2010.
Cultural Centre, Sunyani on 11th December, 2010.
