Thursday Katie Charles from the "Daily News" published an interesting article on the risk factors, symptoms, treatment and research breakthroughs on NASH.

The information is from; " Dr. Charissa Chang A hepatologist and assistant professor of medicine at Mount Sinai, specializes in treating patients with liver diseases like viral hepatitis and fatty liver disease".

However the article does not cover the relationship between HCV and NASH but does go over the metabolic syndrome connection. .,/

"If left unmanaged, NASH can lead to cirrhosis, liver transplant or liver cancer. "A liver biopsy is the only way to tell whether someone with fatty liver has the more severe NASH, although sometimes we can make an estimation without having to perform a liver biopsy," says Chang". /
